Malta

ISTC is located in Malta which is situated in the centre of the Mediterranean Sea just 93 Km south of Sicily and 290 Km from North Africa.

The climate is very similar to North Africa and the Middle East. This enables training to the carried out under conditions similar to those in which the trainees will perform their duties.

The training centre is located in the south of the island on part of a former World War II air force base.

The site is well removed from any residential or commercial areas which allows for training in "real fire" scenarios.

The school's grounds are adjacent to the Malta International Airport (Luqa) and only a few minutes drive away from the sea which facilitates training in off-shore and maritime courses.

There are frequent (in most cases, daily) air connections and owing to Malta's geographical location travel times are very short.
